 T he Palace was designed by Nicodemus Tessin the younger in 1690 and is typical both for its time and for Tessin, who was one of Sweden’s great baroque architects who also designed the Royal Palace in Stockholm.

Steninge too is a baroque palace which today is in private ownership and the owners have

carried out extensive restoration work over a considerable period of time with

a view to restoring the palace and its original features.

Ateljé Catellani has carried out and number of restoration and conservation

assignments at Steninge Palace, and has also restored various sections of the

interior. In addition, the ateljé has also re-created the owning family’s coat of

arms, on the left.
